$845 billion more for global poverty…to be paid by US Taxpayers! If the Global Poverty Act of 2007 (s.2433) is passed we will be supporting the world’s poor…even more than we do today!

The text of the bill starts with the purpose of the bill which is: “To require the President to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to further the United States foreign policy objective of promoting the reduction of global poverty, the elimination of extreme global poverty, and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goal of reducing by one-half the proportion of people worldwide, between 1990 and 2015, who live on less than $1 per day.”

Obama is the sponsor of a bill called the Global Poverty Act which could end up costing taxpayers billions of dollars in an attempt to reduce poverty in other nations. Sounds all warm and fuzzy…who wants hungry kids…not me…but can the American taxpayer afford it to cure the problems of the world?

This Act is simply global income redistribution…we earn it they distribute it…to foreign nations!

Forget about helping needy people in the US…we will be sending even more of our money to the United Nations is SB 2433 passes; and we all know how well that organization manages money! The additional money, provided by American taxpayers, would be administered in conjunction with the UN “Oil for Food Program.” We have been struggling for years to abolish poverty within the US…and we still have poverty…what makes Obama think the taxpayers of the US can wipe out global poverty? Creating a global welfare state?

If approved the legislation dedicates 0.7 percent of the U.S. gross national product to foreign aid, which over 13 years would amount to $845 billion. This is in addition to what the US already spends on foreign aid.

Where do you think this money will come from? More taxes of course! Now does anyone think that more taxes will help the already struggling US economy?

Sister bill: H.R. 1302: Global Poverty Act of 2007 Passed House of Representatives! This bill has been passed in the House. The bill now goes on to be voted on in the Senate. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee passed the Global Poverty Act on February 13 and approved it to move for consideration on the Senate floor.
